£19 of every £25 hour
Customers pay £25 per hour. You keep £19 of it. CleanApp keeps £6 to run the app, take payments, verify identities and provide support. There are no weekly fees and nothing to invoice.
Payouts are automatic. As soon as a customer is charged for a clean, your earnings move to your Stripe balance, and Stripe pays them into your bank, usually within a few working days. You see every job and every payout in the app, so you always know what you have earned and when it arrives.
You set your own hours. Work three hours on a Tuesday or forty hours a week. The rate is the same.

Paid to your bank automatically through Stripe, usually within a few working days of each clean, and every tip on top goes to you in full. Cleaning products are included in the customer's price, so you bring your own kit.

What you need to get started

You must be an adult to work through CleanApp. Your date of birth is checked during verification.

Right to work in the UK
You need to be legally allowed to work as a self-employed person in the UK.

A smartphone
An iPhone or Android phone with mobile data. The app uses your location while you are online and on a job.

ID verification through Stripe
A passport, driving licence or biometric residence permit, plus a selfie. Stripe checks both in the app.
Before you sign up
How and when do I get paid?
You earn £19 for every hour you clean. When you sign up you connect a bank account through Stripe. As soon as a customer is charged for a clean, your earnings move to your Stripe balance, and Stripe pays them into your bank automatically, usually within a few working days. You never have to chase a customer for money and you never handle cash.
Can I choose which jobs I accept?
Yes. When you are online, we send you jobs near you. You see the time, the length of the clean, the area and what you will earn before you accept. Decline anything that does not suit you. Go offline whenever you like.
Do I bring my own cleaning products?
Yes. The customer's price includes cleaning products, so you bring your own kit and equipment. Customers can leave notes in the app if they would prefer you to use something they already have at home.
Am I employed by CleanApp?
No. Cleaners on CleanApp are self-employed. You decide when you work and which jobs you take, and you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. CleanApp provides the app, the customers, the payments and support.
What happens if a customer cancels?
Customers can cancel a scheduled clean free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, or an InstaClean within 5 minutes of it being confirmed. After that they pay 50% of the booking value, and you receive a share of that charge. If you need to cancel, tell us in the app as early as you can so we can offer the job to another cleaner.
