Up to £22 an hour
You earn £22 an hour for InstaCleans and £15 an hour for scheduled cleans.
Customers pay £32 an hour for an InstaClean, and you keep £22 of it. For a scheduled clean they pay £25 an hour, and you keep £15. CleanApp keeps the rest to run the app, take payments, verify identities and provide support. There are no weekly fees and nothing to invoice. Customers book at least three hours, between 6am and 9pm, and you are paid for the time you clean, rounded up to the next 15 minutes, with a one hour minimum and never more than was booked.
Payouts are automatic. As soon as a customer is charged for a clean, your earnings move to your vault, your own Stripe balance, and every Friday everything ready is paid into your bank for free. You see every job and every payout in the app, so you always know what you have earned and when it arrives.
You set your own hours. Work three hours on a Tuesday or forty hours a week. The rate is the same.
On top of that, you get a £25 bonus every 50 cleans. Once you have cleaned 50 hours yourself, you also earn £1 for every hour worked by a cleaner you refer, for 3 months, paid by CleanApp and never taken from their pay. If you bring other CleanApp cleaners to help on a clean, the pay and any tip are split equally between you.

At £15 an hour. The same hours as InstaCleans, at £22 an hour, would earn £440. Paid to your bank free every Friday through Stripe, and every tip on top goes to you in full, split equally when cleaners clean together. Cleaning products are included in the customer's price, so you bring your own kit.

Add your profile, check your ID with Stripe, show your right to work, add your tax details and connect your bank. All of this takes about ten minutes. We usually confirm your right to work within a day, and you are approved automatically once every step is done.

You must be an adult to work through CleanApp. Your date of birth is checked during verification.

Right to work in the UK
You need to be legally allowed to work as a self-employed person in the UK. You also add your National Insurance number when you sign up, as HMRC asks.

A smartphone
An iPhone (Android is coming soon) with mobile data, and a UK mobile number. The app uses your location while you are online and on a job.

A passport, driving licence or ID card, plus a selfie. Stripe checks both in the app.

How and when do I get paid?
You earn £15 for every hour of a scheduled clean and £22 for every hour of an InstaClean. When you sign up you connect a bank account through Stripe. As soon as a customer is charged for a clean, your earnings move to your vault, your own Stripe balance, and Stripe pays everything ready into your bank free every Friday. Cashing out at once is coming soon, with a waiting list for cleaners with 100 cleans and a 5 star rating. You never have to chase a customer for money and you never handle cash.
Can I choose which jobs I accept?
Yes. When you are online, we send you jobs near you. You see the time, the length of the clean, the area, what you will earn, how it fits your day and the customer’s notes before you accept. Decline anything that does not suit you. Go offline whenever you like.
Does my rating matter?
Yes, mainly for InstaClean requests, which ask one cleaner at a time: cleaners rated 4.5 or more are asked before those below it, so a good rating brings you more of them. Your rating is the average of your last 25, so it improves as you go, and customers see your stars from your fifth rating.
Do I bring my own cleaning products?
Yes. The customer's price includes cleaning products, so you bring your own kit and equipment. Customers can leave notes in the app if they would prefer you to use something they already have at home.
Am I employed by CleanApp?
No. Cleaners on CleanApp are self-employed. You decide when you work and which jobs you take, and you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. CleanApp provides the app, the customers, the payments and support.
What happens if a customer cancels?
Customers can cancel a scheduled clean free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, and cannot cancel an InstaClean in the app once you have taken it. Later cancellations go through our support team, and when a cancellation charge applies, you receive a share of it. If you need to cancel, tell us in the app as early as you can so we can offer the job to another cleaner. If something serious happens, such as an accident or illness, either of you can ask for an emergency cancel in the app with a reason. If the customer asked and you accept, the clean is cancelled and nobody is charged or paid. If you asked and the customer accepts, you are not paid for it and it does not count against you, and the clean goes back to the search at the same price; it is cancelled free of charge only if nobody can be found in time.
